This site has been created by enthusiasts to compile information and memorabilia on the Norddeutscher-Lloyd ocean liner the MS Berlin. Originally built and named as the Gripsholm. In 1924 for the Swedish American Line, she was renamed in 1954 when bought by NDL. She then spent the majority of her lifetime crossing between Bremerhaven, Germany and New York with occasional cruises until eventually being scrapped at in 1966. On this site you will find images. MUSEUM TO TRANSFER COLLECTION TO SOUTH STREET IN THE AUTUMN 2002. Following months of negotiations between Peter Aron, President of the South Street Seaport Foundation, and President John Maxtone-Grahan, the trustees of the Museum have voted unanimously to transfer the collection to South Street Seaport.
